Please Vote on Tuesday

Yup, it’s that time again. Four of the nine positions on the East Penn School board are up for grabs in the elections being held on Tuesday (May 18th). Here’s who I plan to vote for–

Bill Whitney: This is Bill’s first time running for school board. He works in higher education and has a daughter in the schools. I recently sat down to talk with him about East Penn and was impressed with his approach and his vision. His website: whitneyforeastpenn.com/

Naomi Winch: Naomi is the only stay-at-home mom on the board, and her own kids have gone to both East Penn schools and charter schools. I appreciate her common sense approach, which she shares in plain and direct language during board meetings. Her website: Crowdpac Page

Adam Smith: Adam is a teacher himself in a neighboring district, in addition to having two young kids in East Penn schools. Adam does his research for every meeting and brings deep knowledge of what schools really look like in the classroom. His website: smithforepsd.org

Alisa Bowman: Alisa is in the publishing industry and has one son in East Penn schools. Alisa is a careful listener. She also frequently speaks up at board meetings for many different constituencies in our community. Her website: bowmanforeastpenn.com

I have not agreed with any of these people on every issue. But they have all earned my confidence and respect for their approach to our schools and our community. All of them are open-minded. All of them bring compassion and dedication to their decision-making. And none of them are focused on a single ax to grind through their board service.

Please make a point to vote next Tuesday. And join me in voting for Whitney, Winch, Smith, and Bowman for East Penn school board.
